Well, it’s finally happened.
After almost 13 years, Quote of the Week has a shiny new website! The
new website makes it easier than ever to vote, submit quotes, and view
the archives. You can also see last week’s top quotes on the homepage.
And did I mention it’s shiny? You can access the new website right now
by simply going to qotw.net.
The reason for this change should seem pretty obvious. Reilly put a lot
of work into the site years ago, but it was starting to show its age.
Hopefully, QOTW.net version 3 lasts us for many years to come. Thanks to
Alex Ding for developing the new website completely unprompted (really).
As Chris said earlier, to submit quotes, vote, and sign up for the new
mailing list, you will need an account on the new website. If you have a
working Commonwealth email account, you can sign up using that. If you
are an alum and you would like to vote and submit, please email
cws.qotw at gmail.com to request an account.
To vote, simply click the “Vote” button and order all the quotes from
favorite to least favorite. As for submitting quotes, the process is no
longer anonymous to prevent spam, but only Quotemasters can see who
submitted which quotes. Feel free to email cws.qotw at gmail.com with any
other questions you have about the new website.
In case you still need it for whatever reason, version 2 of the website
is still available at https://www.qotw.net/index.php. However, most of
the information that’s relevant to this new era of QOTW has been moved
over to the new website.
Keep quoting,
Wilder “no this isn’t an April Fools joke” Perkins
