Dear QOTWers,
So here we are again, well rested from break and ready for more
Commonwealth style hilarity. First things first, the enthusiastic
response to last week's round up of QOTW round 1 totally rocked. QOTW
readers are of course known for their style, wit, and universal skill, but
redundant action that it is I think you should all pat yourselves on the
back right now.
The quotes that you have chosen to move on in QOTY are:
"I want to take poverty down. Come over here poverty, I've got candy.
Everyone likes my candy." -Harry Alper
"Amorphous, well-hydrated, made in the USA, maple-glazed, and exponential"
-Evan McGonagill, asked by Dartmouth to describe herself with five
adjectives
"Sudden inexplicable darkness, one thousand feet."-Ms Grant (reading a
roadsign partially covered by black plastic)
"You know how when you are physically tired you don't want to exercise,
and when you are mentally tired you don't want to think? Well I'm
socially tired, I don't want to pretend to be interesting." -Alex, NSHS
student
So if you're ready to start the next round, here are this week's nominees:
"If you're a senior, there's a rumor going around that RSVPing makes you a
tool. Actually it does all sorts of good things, like improve your social
life and prevent genocide." - Janetta
"There's a book on the cultural history of snow, which pretty much sums up
historical scholarship for me." -Ms. Rome
"My lovely assistant will hand out the sheets...well, I'm the assistant,
but he's lovely." -Ms. Bluestein on Mr. Davis
"It's the tweed." -Andrea, on why she likes Giles (the British librarian
from Buffy)
"I think that everyone in Spanish 3 should dress up as bumblebees and go
on a cheesy Spanish game show." -Jenny, on field trip ideas
"It's sort of like 'erotic is a feather, kinky is a chicken.' I'm two
feathers."- Sarah Gulick
"If Commonwealth had prom queens, I think it would be two guys in
dresses." -Ms. Grant
"That's the wrong response. The correct one is 'my dear sister, please
take all the chocolate ice cream" - Rose Kaufman to Jeff
"You are all worse than a harem of chatty wives!" -Mr. Riahi, to his
unruly Physics 2 class, Friday 7th period
"We're teenagers: of course when we look at it we're going to see 'sex
squared.'" -Will on the shield in the Dartmouth lobby painted "sum of e to
the x squared" (Se^x^2)
So remember to vote by 5Pm on Friday, and sign up for honorable mentions
at honorablementions-subscribe at qotw.net: 'cause it's all about quantity.
Until next week,
Greta "Joss Whedon IS my hero" Friar
